Should/ or should we not have the right to play God?
We can clone animals now, and maybe in the near future, clone humans. What gives us the right to do this inhumane action?

I personally think that we do have a right to play God, reason is cause I'm a atheist Not a good argument, but it's still my belief

No!! we don't have a right.

Cos' in this world everything is created for a reason. I Can give u an example Most ppl including atheist belie in big-bang theory.

According to the theory, after the big bang there we millions of matters & antimatters created, the numbers were (nearly)equal when a matter go in touch with antimatter both destroyed themselves. But by luck there 1 matter survived. which made this universe the sun, stars etc, than earth was created & it got water in it, it got its moon which helped it to get it winds run, than the atmosphere, the plans, the oxygen. Do u think this was just a co-incident. Such a number of coincidence can happen???

NO!! all those things cannot happen without a plan, the plan mad my GOD!!

So we can never take place of GOD!!!

Can you please define god?

I think you may have heard Gayatri Matra if not here it is:-

Om bhur bhuvah swah
Tat savitur varenyam
Bhargo devasya dheemahi
Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat

The literal meaning of the mantra is:

O God! You are Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Almighty, You are all Light. You are all Knowledge and Bliss. You are Destroyer of fear, You are Creator of this Universe, You are the Greatest of all. We bow and meditate upon Your light. You guide our intellect in the right direction.

I think U've got your answer

God can't be omnipotent, omnipresent and have "all knowledge", I'll make a few threads about this matter in the future.

I agree, I am atheist too. Well somewhat atheist and if god was real, he plays us all the time. What gives him the right?

Well heres another argument for that.

When God created the universe, he had a unlimited amount of choices to make. Since he is omniscient, he already knows what would happen in each choice.
So lets say in Universe 2311, everyone is a Christian because they choose that out of their own free will, while in Universe 8081, is the present universe, with multiple religions and atheists like us.
This would mean that God created us to be atheists and to created us to send us to hell. Now by doing that he would not be omni benevolent.

Even if he wasn't omni benevolent, I wouldn't want to believe in a God who creates people then condemns them to hell.

If there was a "God" who wanted us to not play "God" he/she would have stopped us already.

Dear friends,

God is omnipotent, omnipresent but the choice of making the decision is with us. I mean say, you have exams tomorrow o study or not to study is the matter of your choice. Its not God's fault that u didn't study & failed in Xam.

BTW I don't believe in So called heaven & hell they are just myth's.

I believe in reincarnation(rebirth) if you do good, good will happen to you, if u do bad the same thing you will face.

Again I am telling, god is omnipresent, he knows everything there is no past & future of god there is only present. God is present in past & present in future too. he is never in past or future. I know its a bit confusing what I am talking, But if you have any question I am ready to clear it .

My personal beliefs say no, but in the name of a good debate, I shall say yes. We are superior, we have the intelligence, the strength, and the ability to play god, why should we with hold our selves? If you had the ability to fly, shoot laser beams from your eyes, basically do what super man can do, would you with hold those powers and not use them, just because it is, "wrong?"

There are a lot of responses to this, but I will stick with the simplest.

- The god of the bible created things.
- We simply reorganize to remake things.

- If God didn't want us to do something, why would he give us the tools to do so?

No you don't have that right, you will be arrested. Executing a citizens arrest is illegal depending on who you will arrest and you will need to be very careful in the manner of arresting the person and have evidence. The green lantern was masked, I believe masking yourself is not allowed in all places, public or not. Particularly as you are being the hero and not the villain it might be seen as the opposite as you are the one masked.

How can we play God? We aren't immortal... But we do have bombs that can wipe out entire cities and thousands of people... Also, since when can we clone humans? As for animal cloning, all of them failed.

The closest thing to a God on earth is being a King ruling over vast domains or an emperor..

God kills, we can kill too. There can be an argument that we are God, on Earth.

Anything we can do God can do better. That is all. Everything that God does in the Bible, we can do but on a much smaller scale. We are playing God everyday. He's Golf, we're Mini-Golf.
