Do you think it's right to take all of this technology we have and use it to make people's voices sound all technologified? Or should we let the people with natural talent have the stage instead?

Personally, I think that the natural talent should take the spotlight. The auto tune is just tacky now, it's so absurd.

But what do you think?

I think if a band can't sound as good live unplugged as they do on a CD they don't deserve to have a record contract

Most popular bands, even back in the 60's and 70's, don't sound nearly as good unplugged compared to CD but that's because a live performance doesn't have any do-overs like you would in a studio. Plus, in a studio, they almost always use pitch correction even if it is only a little bit just to get the singers voice exactly on. I do agree, however, that if you have to use more than 3-5% pitch correction/auto tune that you should just go sit back down 'cause you can't sing.

most people use auto-tune, im against it as it can almost make anyone sound good.

especially LMFAO... them live is a joke

They're meant to be funny rather than quality music. So yes they ARE a joke, just not in the sense you had imagined.

Autotune is retarded.
Singing is because you have a good voice.

With autotune,the population of the planet can use autotune and there will not be a point of music anymore.

In all honesty they shouldn't be able to use it, people who suck at singing, should stay unemployed or doing their day job.

When I record at school, I don't use anything, no auto tuning, no filter, no voice correction.

I record raw, and upload to youtube raw, it's as simple as that. Autotuning is stupid, although it seems to have become a necessity.
