Do you think it's right to take all of this technology we have and use it to make people's voices sound all technologified? Or should we let the people with natural talent have the stage instead?
Personally, I think that the natural talent should take the spotlight. The auto tune is just tacky now, it's so absurd.
Most popular bands, even back in the 60's and 70's, don't sound nearly as good unplugged compared to CD but that's because a live performance doesn't have any do-overs like you would in a studio. Plus, in a studio, they almost always use pitch correction even if it is only a little bit just to get the singers voice exactly on. I do agree, however, that if you have to use more than 3-5% pitch correction/auto tune that you should just go sit back down 'cause you can't sing.
