Do you consider yourself to be a good person?

By your own standards, and no one elses, would you consider yourself a good person.

I don't know where I fall into this. I like to think I'm a good person but then I stop and think about some of the fucked up shit I've done...

I don't think somebody can consider themselves a good person, I believe somebody has to be considered a good person by others.

Everyone has screwed something up at some point in their life, if they don't want to admit it then it's their own problem, but nobody is perfect to be completely honest.

I meant like weighing the negative and the positive things you've done in your life.

Good point, but people considering you to be a good person is merely politics, plenty of people consider terrible people to be good merely because they've sculpted their outward appearances to give that illusion.

Just because you have screwed up make you a bad person. Everyone messes up, as you stated and by that logic there would be no good people on this Earth.

I don't understand why someone can't consider themselves to be a good person. For example, someone living a life for others will know the lifestyle they are living is "good" and that is why they live that way.

I never said that screwing up made someone a bad person. I was referring to what Bit said at the start with:

However, I just don't think you can consider yourself a good person, surely people who have done inhumane things have considered themselves good.

It's merely just how you view it. There's no right or wrong answer, just opinion.

You just pretty much answered the question yourself. Yes, people can consider themselves to be good people. This does not make them good people, but you can consider yourself to be a good person all you want.

Not asked in OP, could be a whole new thread and would be an interesting discussion. My opinion is that if there is nothing to base what is good off of, you cannot consider something to be good. =S

I personally believe i'm a good person because many others could argue that i'm a good person. I'v done many good things and helped many others
