There are four types of blood groups. They are A, B, AB and O. The group is decided by the antigens present in the blood. The blood group is called Universal donor as the blood of this group can be received by any group and AB group is called universal recipient! Other groups are to be given the same group of blood in emergencies apart from the universal donor group O. All these groups are divided into Rh +ve or Rh -ve. Thus blood group is always mentioned with letters along with the sign Thu A-, indicate A blood group with negative Rh factor AB+ indicates AB blood group with Rh + ve factor! It is important to know one's blood group and to get it noted in I cards or driving licence so that in case of emergencies this information comes handy and without wasting much time the treatment can be started ! I am O +ve! Do you know your Blood group? What is it? Please respond! Thanks !
