Requirements:
  • A brain.
  • Decent computer, preferably 1.5GB of RAM or so with an alright video card.
  • Decent computer knowledge.

Setting up Media Player Classic - Home Theater

First off, if you have any other codecs like K-Lite or even Media Player Classic - Home Theater (MPC-HC) uninstall it. If you have VLC you can uninstall that piece of garbage if you'd like.

After uninstalling those items, you will download Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP). It contains all the necessary codecs for maximum viewing pleasure. If you have VLC and did NOT uninstall it just ignore the next couple of steps.

When installing CCCP just do the regular procedure and keep clicking next.
Until you see this step:

If you have any of these installed on your computer, uninstall it.
If you don't you can keep going. If you feel like you have a slower computer you install CoreWavPack, if you have a fast computer just untick it. Installing Haali Media Splitter is optional, I think it's totally useless so you can just untick that too.

When you reach the end it should ask you to open the settings. Open it.
The settings screen will open looking like this:

If you installed the CoreWavPack in the previous step check the CoreAVC under Alternative H.264 Decoders.

The rest just follow according to the image above.

Now your software is about all set.

Getting a BitTorrent Client
If you already have a bittorrent client you can skip this step.

If not I just recommend using uTorrent, it's very light weight effective.
It can be found here: http://www.utorrent.com/

Downloading your Anime
We are going to be downloading anime via torrents and not by download links. However I will not explain how to find them via DDL.

There are various anime torrent hosting sites.
Just to name a few:

If you want the best one, I use Nyaa personally.

Now let's look at some torrents.
iosdp.png

Assumingly you want english subtitles choose torrents that are marked in purple/green "Anime Sub".
Now lets analyze the file names.
Just taking the first example,
[HorribleSubs] Battle Girls - Time Paradox - 12 [480p].mkv
The very first part of the filename tells us the sub group that released this. In this case it's HorribleSubs
Next will be the title of the anime which is, Battle Girls - Time Paradox.
The next should be a number indicating the episode number.
The next set of numbers inside the square brackets is the resolution of the video. The higher the better. Usually 480p is DVD quality, 720p is HD, 1080 is also HD and BluRay. If you have a very slow computer I don't recommend trying to view 1080p. It's up to you.

Sometimes there is also a CRC tag in the filename, because our first example didn't have one I will use:
[Commie] The World God Only Knows S2 - 10 [918865F6].mkv
"[918865F6]" is a CRC tag, it not really all that important but it just helps the sub groups keep track of things.

When you find something you want to download you should put into consideration, the file size, and the number of seeders.
File size is under the column, Size and seeders is under the column SE. The most seeders the faster your download will be in most cases.

Congratulations you are now a professional anime viewer!
If you did everything correctly you should have a result like this:
