I know most of you might not know the basics when it comes to morals and ethics given the fact that you're not at the stage I am in my program of study but if you think you'd like to take a shot at this debate, go for it.
My psychology teacher, who is also a wife and mother of two, recently shared her thoughts on our prestigious and media-friendly renown psychiatrist, Dr. Phil. She thinks very poorly of him with the reasoning that clinicians main concern with regards to their profession is to maintain the doctor-patient confidentiality and he's clearly made a mockery of this forefront. Rather than addressing people's issues privately, he just so chooses to publicize their incompetences and flaws in order to strengthen his public appeal and self-glory, not to mention his publicity and ratings.
Having said that, my question to all you aspiring good-doers is as followers; do you think Dr. Phil should be accredited for at least addressing people's issues to begin with, whether he did so privately or not, or should he be stripped of his degrees and profession because he's shaped everyone's personal problems into a bonanza on international television?

Clearly he had watched the video before he aired it because he has no choice; he has to have approved it before he shows it to his audience. Having said that, in my eyes, he's nothing but an exploitive prick and with that, very demeaning and dis-gracious to patients with problems that need to be addressed seriously. All he does is use Rational Emotive Therapy to change people's thinking with very emotional words.
