Has anyone ever been surgically put to sleep? I'm having surgery on the 24rd and they will put me to sleep. Any suggestions or experiences? My mom is scared of the idea of me getting put to sleep but I don't think it'll be bad. I'm getting surgery in my mouth because last year when I had 2 root canal done, one of them wasn't done right and it got infected inside and now i have a cyst. They're going to open my gum and get rid of it, it's kind of scary thinking about it.

Any suggestions or experiences?

It's not that bad, I had surgery last year and my brain was telling me to stay awake but I slowly just went to sleep. My muscles were pretty sore when I woke up too. Good luck!

You will be knocked out pretty fast, you won't even know what happened.

I had to be put to sleep for an operation on my ribs due to having extra ones. It was taking me longer due to being nervous but also my ADHD didn't help at all. It is different with everyone but once you wake up, its very chill but sore.

I've had surgery 4 times, 3 on my ankles and 1 for my appendix. It's honestly not bad at all... The only bad thing about my ankle surgeries were I had to get a nerve block. So they put me on some medicine that had me messed up.. But when you go back for surgery. You change beds and they put an oxygen mask on you. Then about 10 seconds later you're out. When you wake up I had no pain at all just very tired. Hopefully everything goes good man!

I believe what they give you is called general anesthesia. If I remember correctly it's just a needle and then you feel fuzzy for a few moments and then you fall asleep. There's probably other methods etc including a mask. You won't know what is going on, when it's over you'll wake up maybe sore dependant on where they operated - but that is to be expected.

Good luck!

I've been put to sleep with general anesthesia for a surgery. You just knock out and when you wake up it feels like it's been only 5minutes.
I was shaking like crazy but it was due to the place being cold af.

When I was like 6 I had my tonsils taken out. I remember you put on the mask and then you're just out. I woke up and my throat was gutted.

Been put to sleep quite a few times. I think a total of 5 times. 2 surgeries when I was a little kid and 3 the past 5 years. The two earliest surgeries were eye surgeries, don't recall anything about it.
Had a kneecap stabilization surgery in 2010 and then another knee surgery to remove some of the titanium screws from the previous surgery. Most recently was a 4 hour surgery to remove half of my right lung.
Honestly being put to sleep isn't bad at all. Before you can count to 3 after they inject you you'll be out.
Then you'll just wake up in the recovery unit. You'll most likely be nauseous when you awake but that's about it.

I have, i was about 11 and i swallowed something that was in my sisters room, like something for hair like the tiny clamp things. I was like throwin up and shit and i got to the hospital and they could find it so i had to drink this ''dye water'' or some shit so they can see it during the xray and they found it so overnight they put me to sleep and stuck this long ass pipe down my throat and got it out and shit. I didnt feel a thing tbh.

I have been put to sleep several times. You will feel sore when you wake up, but you should be fine pretty soon.
