I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Some nerds have my IP from Ventrilo, and though they haven't said anything about DDoSing me, my internet is being really laggy today. It was totally fine last night, but this morning my bots had disconnected, and every time I go on RuneScape or start up a bot, it keeps getting the "connection lost" message, etc. Even my MSN messenger has disconnected a couple of times, and that has never happened before.
I have tried to change my IP.
I have tried the ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew commands and disconnecting my modem and pulling the power cord for several minutes. I have tried ipconfig/release, shutting down my computer, unplugging my modem (power cord included) for several minutes, starting up the computer, plugging it back in, and using ipconfig/renew.
I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to change my IP address, though I feel that if I were able to the lag issue would go away.
Despite knowing that a firewall may not help with DDoS or DoS attacks, I have installed one anyways.
Does anyone know what the problem may be? I suppose it is possible that my ISP is getting choked or something.
Any other ways to change my ip other than leaving my modem unplugged and turned off for the entire evening?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I will gladly +3 rep anyone who can help me solve this problem.
