The concept of extremism is an illusion. The term extremism is commonly passed around by the media when describing groups such as the Westboro Baptist Church and Islamic terrorists groups. Theists make the excuse that these groups they do not accurately reflect their beliefs. "These aren't true Muslims, these aren't true Christians." However, everyone seemingly fails to see that these groups are the most Christian and Muslim groups out there.
They're simply following their dictated guidelines and tenets to their core, they're not extremists, they're true believers. These are the blind worshipers God wanted, however, even these groups are far from the core. The Westboro Baptists should be praised by their fellow theists for their picketing that advertises the word of God and brings sorrow to many, and the Islamic Terrorists should be praised by their fellow theists for their work of slaughtering the infidels, for doing what their religious text dictated.
What we label as extremism, is what all religion is suppose to be.
Thankfully, secular morality and logic fortunately has molded modern religion, so we don't praise and follow these cruel and barbaric acts. I for one, hope that this gradual continuation of, implementation of secularism proceeds for the sake of humanity and advancement.
Anyone say otherwise?
