I just felt like dropping a few lines containing my opinion.
I understand that people start forums to make a gain, but you guys seem so money hungry. It's growing kind of ridiculous.

I agree, I'm willing to help you guys, but it seems you might be turning into what I dislike.
And what I dislike is investing, then I become a hypocrite to my own political beliefs.

I'm not saying that asking for donations and offering perks to people who pay for them is a bad thing, but when you monetize everything it makes you look greedy.

I apologize if you feel this way, we weren't planning on releasing the Thinker group for money until at least 100+ members, but mis-communication caused this. I don't believe we are that money hungry, we give a free upgrade at 200 posts, and the upgrade that costs money is $5. On other sites it is $15-$18. As for Groups, I need it to be an amount that people will prove people will be focused on their group, if it was $10 or less, a ton of people would just propose mediocre groups because it was so cheap. We aren't asking/demanding any money, we're offering other accessories that you can use, for a fairly low price. Do note that at this moment, all of the costs of the site are coming out of our pocket, we need to make enough money to keep this place afloat.

Edit:
If you wish us to remove the Thinker usergroup and return the money, and remove the ability to have groups, then we can do so.

The donator group is cheap and doesn't seem off to me at all.
The fact that you want to charge people to start groups, give rep for donation, have a donator group, and have donation awards... together, shows more than I'd like to think.

I agree, but we need to make some money somehow, $5 won't hold us up for super long. We don't give Rep for donations? Donator Group is the Upgrade group. Donation award is like on HF they have Rich Bitch, Emerald Donator, etc. etc.

Edit: Saw the Rep Epic gave for donating, will talk to him about that, that's way out of our morals.

Considering the cost of running a forums, I'd say it's pretty justifiable. It's not going to factor into anything major if you DON'T contribute financially. These are just perks offered by the administration to those who wish to give to the site. From what I have seen, all the money made thus far as gone back into the site. If they had wanted to monetize the site, you would have seen a lot more to spend your precious little money on. All the costs of running and maintaining this site comes out of their pockets; not yours. Since you seem to be enjoying yourself here, you could at least show the respect to allow them to somewhat balance the budget on this one. They aren't major game changers, just additional shit to make you happy with a more in depth experience on the forums.

Ok, as for the groups, lets just make them have a high requirement to start one, plus administrative review and approval.

When starting this forum, Epic and I were afraid when we released the perks we would be seen as greedy.
1) I have removed the cost for an Official Group and changed the Requirements.
2) I have removed the Rep that Epic gave for donating.
3) The Donation Group, or Thinkers, will remain at $5.
4) If you have any more opinions on us being greedy, please do share. I wish to make the forum the best around, and I don't wish to be looked at as a greedy admin.

I overreacted a little, my apologies.
I don't expect you to make it simple to make an official group, but $25 for something that might not even see much light is a little much.

Not all of us have money to spend online.
Yes, I buy games like MC and things like HF L33t, but those are things I can guarantee I'll get use out of.

I never said you HAVE to spend money. I was pointing out that if you had wanted to contribute money and gain additional features that this was how it worked. HF L33t was just another usergroup until all the members and benefits were set in stone, You haven't even seen the upgraded members section. What if it possessed some moderately good qualities hmm? Nobody said you had to donate.

I was referring more to the groups and rep, and I never said that you said that I had to donate. I was simply stating the fact that we don't all have money to spend on getting ahead.

The l33t section isn't really my bag anyway.
I've only posted in other people's bragging rights threads and posted a software key thread for a normal member. (Even though I've been l33t for 9 months.)

Okay, all in all, now that I have fixed several things, is there anything else that makes us look greedy?

I already apologized for that.
The direction you were moving to hinted something that it apparently didn't mean.

We honestly don't mean to be greedy, and didn't even want to release some of the content lately. But what's done is done, hopefully others that think us greedy will read this thread and understand.

I'm sorry if you got the opinion that I was greedy =P
I merely was trying to gather enough money to get a sticky for the SRPP section next week.
However as Sir said, we have looked at your feedback, decided it was a fair point and made changes.
I hope you'll understand and forgive us.

"An apology is a good way to have the last word." (Just trying to end this on a light note.)

I posted this thread hastily and you shouldn't take much meaning from it.
I guess it serves as a good reminder of what some members feel, but it's message is better unsaid. I should have thought over your motives, and I didn't.

(You can close this if you like.)
