I question the validity of the feminist movement. Indeed, by definition it something the vast majority of us can agree on, however; what it is by that notion -- is not what we see. We see something gross and disgusting when we look at feminism in the first world. I don't see self-empowering independent women. I see man-hating and censorship-seeking women. Perhaps you think this is not the majority, however; how come this minority is the voice of the movement? Why are we not seeing this 'overwhelming majority' of 'real feminists' speak louder than these 'few' male-tear-drinking feminists? Why are whiny feminists who care about what you wear, what video games you play, what jokes you make, and whether or not you have a dick the epicenter of talk for this movement? There are places in the world where women are being sincerely oppressed, yet, I see no conversation about them in their circle. Namely, Islamic countries in the Middle East and China where newborn infants are killed on the basis of being female for traditional purposes; where women can't drive or show their face; where women are raped then executed by guards, because you cannot be executed a virgin woman. I hope to see the day where feminism revolves around providing reformation, awareness and commentary to these horrible acts rather than petty whines of being offended.
Feminist theory ideates that women are oppressed by a male-dominant society, namely the patriarchy. It ideates that men are the reason for all problems. However, this inherently sexist idea that it's all man's fault cannot be seen in the first world. Name one right a man has that a woman does not. (In fact, I can name rights women have, however, men do not. Men have no reproductive rights. They sign the contract to have and support their children with sex.) You can't. Perhaps, you can tell me a disadvantage to being a women, but I can come right back at you with hurtful double standard for men. The fact is there are advantages and disadvantages to both sexes, however, these aren't rights.
