I'm old as shit and can't save money at all.
It literally kills me. I work so hard for a paycheck I can't even enjoy because I'm too busy working?

Mortgage, insurance, phone bill, electric, water, groceries, CC's, emergencies, gas.
Spent $900 the last few months to fix my truck. then christmas hit, my birthday is on the 31st of this month and I have no idea what to do.
I really want to get an overnight job or something but eh idk. What do you guys do with your extra money after you pay off priorities?
Like I literally spent 400 on things to make costumes for a convention I didn't even end up going to. waste of fabric and supplies that I can't return -.-
I just want to make sure I'm not the only one who can't manage their money responsibly. As soon as I get paid it's all gone xD

I have been there man and know how it feels.
Don't feel the need to save it ALL though. Just put a bit away each month.

Once I pay everything off, I split the money and put one half in savings. If I need any more, I dip into them, if I have money left over, then I chuck that into the savings pot too.

Please feel free to PM me any time if you want some tips.

Meh That requires time, risk, and persuasion. I need to make sure theres definite income.
@California lol you dork
@"Moon knight" Thanks! I did have savings but shit happens had to fix up my house, like theres just never any money in my account long enough to accumulate. I think I'm going to try that whole "add a dollar a day to an account you can't access easily" or something. Not having another person to rely on is tough.

That's kind of what I do haha, Every couple of days I just throw $10 or so in, just for emergencies or an occasion where I need some money.. It builds up pretty well if you can keep yourself from just spending it. (I'm an impulse buyer haha)

One day I will record and post my makeup / shoe collection. I have a serious problem.

Easy, when you have problems saving send 20$ to a family member you trust, let it add up and when you need it bam, that way it's not available to you so easily.

Or on an extreme case go an entire week without any money, maybe it'll make you value it, a tad more making you rethink your spending habits

Or find a boyfriend split costs then it's less of a hassle, if not boyfriend a roommate that can help.

I do like the family member idea. and I drive a truck that needs to be filled up every 3 days so doing the whole "money without a week thing" really isn't an option.
I do have a boyfriend as well, but it's not that serious yet so I can't just rely on him financially. I also would hate to break up and him having the upper hand by claiming my things because he helped paid for them. I try to think more long-term.

edit: I really do appreciate the suggestions

Family idea is your best bet, that way you have that stored money in case, or maybe even a piggie bank at home for loose change.

Lol piggy banks are adorable. Thank you! What do you spend a majority of your money on?

Anything I want im similar to you, I have severely expensive tastes so it's hard to manage it but ive been getting a lot better, see I just got the 2014 Hyundai for 15k already going to drop 32k on a Hyundai Genesis and I've only had the car for about 4 months, So I really need to get myself under control which I have gotten a lot better at.

save 10% of your paycheck every week and put it in a tax shelter annuity and by the time your like 70 you'll be a millionaire. Deadass, learned it in school like 3 days ago

Always sucks when something comes along that requires a lot of money, but when you have been saving up for a while, you'll be able to dip into the savings for such things.
Try the dollar a day thing, or even start small and just do like $10 to $20 a month.
You will get there though.

I would do this aswell. Some good advice even though it might be tempting just to 'grab' all of the savings and say 'next month i'll do savings' over and over again. Do this and be determined.

You do need determination and will to be able to do this. But the feeling is fantastic once you get going and you look at your account growing each time.
In a year you'll look at it (assuming that you do not need to dip into them too much) and feel so proud of yourself it's unreal.

I'm always a PM away if anyone needs any tips on what the best accounts are and what to invest your money in, etc.
