Flash Discontinued for Mobile Devices...Maybe Desktops Later?

Originally according to ZDNet, Adobe will no longer be supporting Flash on mobile devices. Not for Android, not for anything.

Will this encourage more people to buy iPhones and other iDevices? Perhaps, considering that Apple has disallowed Flash from their devices for the reason of it being slow, and just a terrible thing.

I agree, but unfortunately, Flash is too widely used to just dismiss it. It's estimated that 75% of web media is created in Flash. That's astounding.

Is this a sign that Flash may be discontinued for desktops later; being replaced by HTML5?

You tell me.

Like you said, if Apple start being selfish then they (being someone other than Apple) are just going to make something else that does the same job, hopefully better.

We have been playing with HTML5 and CSS3 at Uni and its truely amazing, ill have to post up some videos.
It just has to become W3C Standard and then bring on the awesome sites

Flash is becoming more and more obsolete. We should stop reminiscing in the pass and just chop it's head off :3
