"The heart has its own reason which the mind knows nothing of." - an old adage that holds true to people who are hopelessly in love that they never think about the consequences of their actions once they are head-over-heels.
Yes! It is true to follow your heart because it is your deepest emotion to love someone and be loved in return however, there are instances where the mind should rule over the heart. As the old folks said, your head is located at the topmost part of your body because it governs everything. It is important to know your present situation and to know whether the feeling you are into is true love or infatuation. To scrutinize properly is the work of your mind over your heart.
But sad to say, most cases of broken homes, shattered dreams, and failed relationships are works of the heart over mind. Would that be ironic that love should be the center of it all that never dwells to unhappiness and despair? Then, if that is the case, mind should take control one's feelings and emotions.
