Forcing child to do something

I have seen lot of parents who forces their childrens to do lot of staffs such as read all the day long or don't go out with your friends and lot more issues. I have also seen parents giving threads punishing them even hitting them. That's something i called abusing of children because in my opinion if you can't take responsibility of something then just don't take it. A child do not understand everything because they are just child's parents must need to make them understand good and bad facts but not by forcing them. Only one way you can use is love.

So whats your opinion about it.

I don't like that. I'm totally against it. Chilldrens have their own right to do something. Parents can't force them if it isn't wrong. They can only forbade them from doing bad staffs

Forcing a child to do labor is a violation against child's right. The children should be protected against activities that would cause harm to him. No child should be subjected to forced labor. As a parent, all we have to do to our children is love them, care for them, feed them. Let us give them the right to be happy and the right to play. We should remember that we too were kid once and that we had our time. Now is the time to give it back to them.

I applaud you for bringing forth this discussion but i feel that your thoughts are very bias as well. When it comes to child labor, forcing child is wrong but when parents tell their children to do simple tasks such as study or not goof around all the time. the children should listen as well

Yes true , but if you just force your children to study i guess this is the wrong concept you should love them and tell them politely that go and study i guess children are angel so if you tell them something with love they will must listen to you.

I respected every parents of how they will discipline its children because I know they are doing that the children s' sake. But in some point, parents needs to listen to children wants and need and not forcing to do the things which they don't like to do at all. Parents must take an initiative of how the interaction and each activity will be more interesting and enjoyable. As I've noticed most children who were pressurized are those belong to honor roll. They were pressured to study hard to reach a certain goal and level of recognition. There are many issues with children that parents should acknowledge and understand. Punishing them of not doing something that the parents ask is not the solution. I agreed with other posters that there must be love and not always a punishment.

Yes that's is 100% true.my mom and dad sometime forcing me too much about the study,about when i want to play,when i want to surf internet. every time they forced me to study.

As a Responsible student/sibling they should listen to their parents from doing that simple and specified tasks. It's not child abuse. Child abuse is initiated if the kids are brutally punished, forcing to do labor, raped, being exploited to the public, forcing to do petty crimes, etc.

I think making your kid to behave properly,is not by punishing him but by teaching kids on what is right from what is wrong.Forcing a kid to do something is not a good way of discpining a kid.

i don't support this idea of forcing your child.i don't think you should force your child for anything at all.even if you want your child to do something your way then you should try behavior modification.you should do things yourself if you want something to be done by your kid.

Yes forcing children is not really good for their future. By this parents reduced their efficiency and make them doll day by day. It is better to leave them free to improve them. A good guidance is obviously necessary.

Really glad to hear you that u don't punish your children.it's like duty of a parents to not scold them when they are right.

Yes , that happens to me too and i have lot of friends their friends even beat them to study and when they got a bad result they stop to give them everything thats really rude you know because everyone can't be the 1st everyone can't get a A+ result we all are different from each other and we all have our own special reasons to be in this world thats what i believe.

Yes when the children grew up and when they can do everything on their own mind,then i think the parents should give them freedom.
