Yes, you read it right! Generally fish are preserved in Ice or cold storage! In local market the ice is mostly used to preserve the fish. But when the fish are unsold, the left overs instead of stored in ice in India some people have got caught as these people were caught red handed injecting diluted formalin into the bodies of these fish so that they won't get spoiled!
