I see all of these sorts of teams around fk and im unsure what they are? Not to be rude but i dont understand the purpose and i was wondering if someone could help fill me in? Thanks

Rather than teams, I believe that you are seeing different usergroups. Usergroups, such as the one displayed on my profile, Blue Lions, are custom groups or so called "clans" that are created my different members. They often consist of both a leader and co-leader. These groups regularly have recruitment threads up here on ForumKorner, which include the different parameters needed to join. If you are interested in a certain group, you can create a post on a recruitment thread as to why you think you should be accepted into the group. Be warned, though, to not apply via the Group CP, as group leaders often blacklist members who use this method. Anyways, I hope this helped.
