New Usergroup: Kings

The user @Grace recently bought the usergroup Terror from the previous owner @Mike, and transformed the usergroup into the old Kings usergroup, which was alive in early 2013. So far, there have been no declarations by the owner in regards of ForumKorner's latest usergroup. The intentions and purpose of the usergroup are unknown.

@ Plugin Issues Continue

The recently installed @ plugin's issues still haven't been handled. Numerous issues with the plugin have been recognized. Users have reported that they're unable to tag users with special character and or punctuation in their username. They have also reported an inability to tag members with spaces in their username.

Donate to Charity for a Spot in Infinte by @Beats - The co-leader of Infinite, @Beats, released a thread this week that outlined the buy-in process for Infinite. If you want a spot in the group, you can donate $10 or more to the leaders of Infinite. All the money made from the buy-in process will go to Toys for Tots. Read the full thread to learn more.

Old Usernames by @Sherlock Holmes - Jimmy created a thread this week that allowed users to post their previous usernames. Many people posted on this thread and there were a few very hilarious names that stood out. If you are interested in other users' old usernames, be sure to check out this thread.

How many PM's do you have? by @Sherlock Holmes - This thread was also created the legend himself, Jimmy. This thread was all about PM's. Private messages are a private stat, so it was nice to see where other users were. Be sure to post your private messages on this thread.

Wolfpack by @California - ForumKorner's newest group, Wolfpack, release their official informational thread this week. There are several divisions for the group, including World News and Graphics. We all wish their group the best of luck with recruitment.

Gentically Inferior by @xSlatzy - This debate got pretty heated. It was all about whether or not genetic inferiority existed, and whether or not the opinion that certain groups were gentically inferior exhibited racism. Strong opinions were phrased in this thread. Who was right? Who was wrong? You will have to decide that for yourself.

@Leader - Hello there, Jimmy. There is a lot of controversy surrounding your return, and I would like to take some attention off of the bad, and focus on the good. I have a few questions for you. Is that alright?

@Sherlock Holmes - Go ahead and ask me anything.

@Leader - Let's start off by getting to know a little bit about you. Where are you from? Also, how old are you?

@Sherlock Holmes - First of all, I'm from South-West Asia. To be exact, I live in India. And, I'm 17 Year old.

@Leader - India? I don't know many people from India. That is quite interesting. Now, we all know that you have been a long time member of the site. I'd like to here a little more about the origins of your account. Why do you come to the site? What made you decide to stay?

@Sherlock Holmes - That's 2 different answers. I came to site when Uzi's Gaming Forum got merged to FK. With 175 Posts and Zero Reputation, I was none to start at FK. But, I stuck here for 5 days and realized how vast and diverse FK was. Most users back then had less than 1.5K posts and FK was at 280K Posts. Most of the community was friendly and was welcoming, unlike what it is today. Stats mean everything these days. If you don't have a high rep count, you're nobody.

@Leader - That is one of the sad things about the site. Even I can admit that at a certain point, I cared a little too much about stats. I believe we should all take our minds off of our stats and focus more on the community. Any how, what do you enjoy most about the site?

@Sherlock Holmes - I think, making friends and being in different groups is the best thing on FK. That's how I usually meet most people.

@Leader - Making friends is one of the best parts of any forum. Have you made any close friends from the site?

@Sherlock Holmes - As a matter of fact, yes. Two of them. And, I'm sure none except them know me better. They are Kyle and Gr33d. It's a shame that Kyle's not with us.

@Leader - That is a shame, indeed. Who do you talk to most?

@Sherlock Holmes - I think, it was Kyle. We used to talk about MyBB and then he eventually convinced me into being the Co-Leader of Element. Apart from him, I used to talk with Philly, Chill and Cole for hours together. Currently, Gr33d's the user who talks the most with me.

@Leader - Gr33d and you seem to be close friends. You guys were both staff members, and also ran a very successful group together. Is this correct?

@Sherlock Holmes - Yes.

@Leader - I'm sure many users are dying to know, what was it like being a staff member?

@Sherlock Holmes - At first, it was really an unique experience. I had been on FK for 2 months when I got Staff. Kirby, Dean, Uzi & Phenom were always there to guide me where I needed help. I remember the day when Philly asked me to be Staff. It was on AIM. I thought he was pulling some prank on me. It's always nice to be able to help everyone who needed help. My work was based around User Management & Global Moderation.

@Leader - You helped out a lot with any MyBB coding issues. How did you get into coding?

@Sherlock Holmes - That's another story. I used to make Mods for Invision Power Board. My Signature Randomizer for instance. I improved my knowledge into Coding when I ventured into the MyBB scene. It was fun. Later, I extended my learning to Python and VB.

@Leader - I heard you are starting your own forum. How is that going?

@Sherlock Holmes - Not exactly now. But hey, it's fun. I used to run of the big GTA Forums. Now, I plan to make another one. It'll be out by New Year or possibly by the 2nd week of January.

@Leader - I wish you the best of luck with your forum. Do you have any final thoughts or would you like to give a shout out to any members?

@Sherlock Holmes - Yes. Shouts to Infinite Members, Uzi, Gr33d, Brenton, Kyle, Color, Prepare, Chill, Bowser, Cole, Cann!bal, Justice, Phenom, Philly, Beats, Yourself, Decoto, Shot/Joey, MCG, Dean Winchester, Ace, Chronos, Kirby, Old Superior Members and probably more whom I forget.

@Leader - I would like to thank you for participating in this interview. Good luck with everything, Jimmy.

Britain pardons gay 'father of computing' Alan Turing
His code breaking prowess helped the Allies outfox the Nazis, his theories laid the foundation for the computer age, and his work on artificial intelligence still informs the debate over whether machines can think. But Alan Turing was gay, and 1950s Britain punished the mathematician's sexuality with a criminal conviction, intrusive surveillance and hormone treatment meant to extinguish his sex drive. Now, nearly half a century after the war hero's suicide, Queen Elizabeth II has finally granted Turing a pardon. "Turing was an exceptional man with a brilliant mind," Justice Secretary Chris Grayling said in a prepared statement released Tuesday. Describing Turing's treatment as unjust, Grayling said the code breaker "deserves to be remembered and recognized for his fantastic contribution to the war effort and his legacy to science." The pardon has been a long time coming.

US moves troops in prep for more action in S Sudan
The U.S. has moved additional Marines and aircraft from Spain to the Horn of Africa to provide embassy security and help with evacuations from violence-wracked South Sudan. The military moves come as the U.S. continued intense diplomatic efforts to calm the roiling ethnic violence, including holding a meeting Monday between the U.S. special envoy for South Sudan, Donald Booth, and South Sudan President Salva Kiir. The U.S. over the last week has evacuated 380 Americans and 300 others from South Sudan, which has seen vicious, ethnically targeted violence pulse through the nation.

Gay marriages proceed in Utah as judge refuses to block ruling
Same-sex marriages were allowed to proceed in Utah after a federal judge on Monday refused to block his own ruling making gay marriage legal in the state. U.S. District Judge Robert Shelby, who ruled last week that Utah's ban on same-sex marriage violated the rights of gay couples to due process and equal protection under the U.S. Constitution, said the state had not met the legal standards required for him to issue a stay against his ruling. Advocates of gay marriage have won repeated victories in recent years as a growing portion of the American electorate has taken a more favorable view of same-sex relationships. A year and a half ago, just six states and the District of Columbia recognized same-sex unions. In June, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a landmark victory for gay rights by overturning a federal law that barred federal benefits for same-sex marriages in states where such marriages are legal. On Thursday, the New Mexico Supreme Court decided to allow same-sex marriage across the state. In November, the governors of Hawaii and Illinois signed legislation to legalize same-sex weddings.

Mystery 'Tips for Jesus' tipper identified in NYC

The generous mystery tipper who has been leaving waiters and waitresses across the country thousands of dollars in "Tips for Jesus" — and stamped with the @tipsforjesus handle — was identified by a New York City waiter as Jack Selby, former PayPal vice president. This anonymous tipping campaign began in September in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where a $3,000 tip was left on an $87.88 bill. A day later, a $2,000 tip was left on a $215 meal, then $5,000 on a $214.75 bill. An Instagram account bearing the @tipsforjesus name shows photos of the generous gratuities. Its tagline is, "Doing the Lord’s work, one tip at a time.'
