Scenario: The Constitution states that citizens are allowed to practice any religion without consequences. What were to happen if the government changed it to Freedom from religion?

I'd personally be happy as it gets rid of these people who come to my door nearly every month trying to convert me into a Christian.

"Religious freedom doesn't mean that you can force others to live by your beliefs." ~ Barack Obama
This quote fits the thread perfectly IMO.

No once can force you to believe, it a free country. In our bill of rights it clearly says freedom of religion.

Freedom of religion states you can choose which religion to practice freely. Which means people can walk around and try to convert people with persistence because there's nothing that can stop them.

I'm sure freedom of speech entitles people their rights to speak, but not aggravate others to the point of harassment.

I understand what you mean, Not being mean to whoever is Jehovah's witness but they come knock at my door every so and so. They are friendly they do try to convert my family but no harrasing, they are nice people if you chat with them.

Theres also freedom of speech that states that anyone could come to your door and say whatever they want to you. I'm a christian, but I haven't had anyone do what you are talking about.

I am Catholic, but I'm not going to come knocking on your door.

If you choose not to, you don't have to be religious in any way. Some people want to believe in someone, you can't just hope religion disappears completely.

I'm fine with Jehovah's Witness people coming up to the door.

If you want to get out of that. Say "I'm Catholic, no thanks" *proceeds to slam door in face*

No, it doesn't, because people who come to your door aren't trying to force you to follow their beliefs. They're trying to spread the word about their religion so that other people can understand and get a feel for the beliefs of the group. You will never know if you like something, if you don't understand it.

I'm still a minor so I can't freely practice my religion, my parents are Catholic so I am too, I don't go to church though and I'm not really into religion, I think it's all horse shit that some fucker made up to leave a legacy, I believe in Evolution. Don't know much about it, but the general idea of it sounds promising.

If I wanted to know about, it I'd look it up.

I want a shirt with the text "beLIEf". Freedom from Religion would be the greatest thing ever.

I'm atheist and my dad is catholic. He doesn't give two shits.

Freedom of Religion has nothing to do with age. They can't force you to "beLIEve". No matter what age you are, you can't be forced to practice a religion.

You don't understand, when I said I'm still a minor I meant that I can't do whatever I want, I'll always listen to my parents because I owe them that much. But I see what you're getting it, I'm not being forced to practice any religion though.
