Fricking. Siren.

So on our imac there was this siren that would beep 3-4 times then stop. This would happen randomly and when I googled I found nothing.

Meh, I figured it was a mac thing so I left it. 20 seconds ago the same fricking sound just happened and I'm on my laptop which is on windows 7.

What is causing this fricking siren?

Mute volume?

System restore?

It plays for like 5 seconds then stops. It happened a few times a day on the mac, and now this is the first time on my laptop which I've had for less than a week now. So I doubt it's a virus for both. And I'm not just going to mute my volume all the time.

I've never heard of such a problem.

Call tech support.

It's on Windows and Mac, the only 2 programs they both have are Nexus and rsbuddy.

Any idea if that's connected at all?

Call Apple, even though they will think that you are trolling.
Maybe something in your Mac is wrong, battery dying, power supply weak, etc. so it'd be best to call tech support.

I'm on my windows 7 computer and it happened.

Is it coming out the external speakers or the internal speaker in the comp?

Are you sure it's not the little speaker on the motherboard?

If so, yank that shit out.

Well it was from the built in speakers on mac and headphones on windows. It just played 2 times again.

Usually that sound is telling you the computers temperature is high

Well my laptop is running fine, and I've run it harder without that.

But I think I found it.

Go under nexus botclient folder, go to config, music/sound and there is a file named alarm.wave or whatever. That's the exact sound. So I deleted it. Click it if you have it, it's really annoying lol.

Oh ya there is a setting to alert you when something happens like bot fails or gain a level etc etc

Ya my bots were failing, closed it now and deleted that. Weird though because I'm pretty sure bots weren't running when the sound happened. Meh.

But seriously, listen to the sound and tell me how annoying that is.
