GoW 3 Beta Review
Hey Everyone!
So I recently got into the Beta of GoW3 and I absolutely love it! I wanted to make an up close and personal review of it, in order to show you all how awesome it is.
I'm going to cover several things including, guns, maps, skins and characters.
Well, let's get started!
Guns:
You have a wide variety of guns to choose from. When you first start, you have an option of 3 main guns and 2 off hand guns. I'm going to cover these below.
Lancer:
This is your classic gun. It is extremely effective. The damage on it is a bit weaker compared to the others, however, the recoil is worth it. It has very little recoil, making it extremely easy to play with. It is definitely a user friendly gun. Attached to this guns is a chainsaw, in which you can execute people with. The chainsaw is activated by using the B button and is the Lancer's classic melee.
Hammerburst:
This is another option you have when starting the game. This gun has a longer range than that of the classic Lancer, however, has relatively the same damage. The recoil on this gun is a bit higher than that of the lancer, so you sacrifice recoil stability for a longer distance. Overall, a great weapon.
Retro Lancer:
The Retro Lancer is a different spin off on the classic Lancer. It has more damage than that of the it's counterpart, however, the recoil is extremely difficult to control. When playing with this, I found it extremely difficult to stay on target. While the damage is great, the recoil stability is too much for me to sacrifice. Attached is a blade, in which you can charge and stab into people. This is the Retro Lancer's execute melee ability.
Sawed-Off:
This is an off hand shotgun in which you only get 2 bullets per clip. It is extremely deadly and if aimed correctly, can one shot your opponent. The range on this weapon is extremely low, so you must be extremely close to your opponent.
Gnasher:
This is my off hand weapon of choice. You get about 6-7 bullets per clip, it has a bit of a larger range, but has a lower damage. It usually takes either 1 to 2 shots to kill an opponent, depending on how far or close they are to you. I love this weapon!
There are also other weapons that are map specific. These you can pick up on the ground. These include the Torque Bow, Gregor SMV, Longshot and a few others.
Maps:
Overall, the maps on this game are fantastic. I have been playing for about a week and am still not bored of the maps. The graphics are fantastic and I absolutely love playing them. They do not get old quick and each game makes for different map adaptability.
Characters:
There are multiple different characters you can choose to be.
There are two sides / factions. You have your "Gears" which include the characters: Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Anya Stroud, Augustus Cole, Damon Baird and Cole Train. You have to unlock each of the characters.
You then have your "alien" faction which I don't remember the name of off hand.
These characters include: Drone, Savage Grenadier, Flame Grenadier Kantus and Savage Theron.
All of these characters are extremely fun to play as and none of them have higher stats, it's all for looks.
Skins:
You can unlock skins for each one of your guns by completing Achievements and Awards / Medals. These skins are extremely nice looking and make the guns look super cool.

It's an amazing game and I definitely recommend it to all. I rate it 5/5.
The executions are better than ever! I have laughed so hard at some of the awesome executions.
