Give Koins Purpose.

Simple. With all your prized Koins, you can either upgrade, upgrade someone else, buy an award (woo), or.... Uhh. Upgrade.

Well, let's change this!

I've made a million suggestions in the past privately, but I feel maybe this would happen if it got more support. I saw that staff felt this was easier said than done, and I guess that's true if you don't try to do it.
Here you go:

1. LOWER THE PAYOUT. Supposedly $1/1koin, you're getting $.01 for every post. Drives down the value if they're easily obtained.
2. REMOVE DIRECTLY PURCHASING. Why would someone buy from other users for the same price if they're able to just purchase them from the site?
3. REMOVE 1:1. That's not how economy works.
4. ADD SOME PERKS. Right now there are upgrades and awards, that's it. Add something, a betting area, an arcade plugin, fun features, something.
5. DON'T GIVE THEM TO STAFF JUST CAUSE. Just giving them away and adding more to circulation isn't helping.
6. RAISE COST OF UPGRADES/ADD EXPIRATION. This should be considered a cheap alternative to paying for upgrades. Upgrading in such a manner is not beneficial to the site, so it should be harder. These should also expire after a year, rather than be permanent. (pretty sure it was like this originally)

More may be added later. Feel free to leave your own suggestions as well.

I agree with these to be honest, we can't do anything with koins, now Philly has changed it so we cant upgrade to Power+ with koins, it almost defeats the object to look forward to anything. I saved up, then realised we can't get it anymore. Bit silly tbh, although I got PayPal money. But just say that you had Power, wanted to upgrade to Power+ but they can't cos they got no $$, so with koins being allowed, it'd be sick to get it.. something to look forward to as Onyx> Power people have nothing to look forward to if I'm totally true with myself.

Not sure how that's related. The less in circulation, the more the worth. Keeping Koins to a minimum, and not just editing them, will add to the value.

You should add a poll to your suggestion. I would've voted in favor of these changes.

I vote in favor of these changes too. I like the idea of like a betting/gambling place.

Hell yeah I am in favor. Specially with that 1:1 for one shit. No one buys koins cause of that which makes them not worth anything at all.

I like the upgrade being permanent..Just keeps it simple.

Sorry for your misunderstanding I'm just saying in my option that this is a not a good idea and should be left how it is

As far as I have read, @Philly responds to comments about koins saying that they are a better alternative to PayPal because they can't be charged back on. Obviously (from what I have seen him say) he would prefer that koins be a working form of payment. If, by some miracle, everyone starts using koins for buying everything on here, giving random koins to staff would mean that, not only could they pretty much freely buy whatever they want, but its also introducing more koins to circulate, which is detrimental to the "economy" of koins because it dilutes the "pool" of koins that are in circulation, and then lowers their value. Also, just to note, I'm almost 100% sure that a true economy has finite resources, but whatever.

See there is what I realized if it is a 1:1 ratio.

1) Paying for upgrades would only be worth a $2 if you got koins for $.10 or $10 for $.50

2) Awards would go with the same with upgrades

3) If there were a betting system it would be the same as for the upgrades.

4) People who sell SM would demand more koins.

If anything it should be lowered to .9:1 or .8:1 or maybe even .7:1 (a little more time wasting though)

Now I got rid of my major first problem with your statement (in my opinion).

1) I don't see why? 1 koin=100 post (Would have to be changed if we changed the ration, which is another reason why we shouldn't).

1.) You can't dictate how much a currency is worth, that's just common sense. That is why 1:1 is the dumbest shit I've ever heard. In all honesty, it'd work out better to have upgrades with koins removed altogether, forcing you to find someone with PayPal to trade for an upgrade. The only problem with that would be that everyone is broke.

2.) He gave all staff 100 koins today.

3.) Exactly my point. It shouldnt be an issue to renew it for like 25 koins.
