Google Chrome continues to lead in the browser market and has once again distanced itself from Internet Explorer, its closest rival, according to StatCounter data.
The Google browser ended September with a 34.21 percent market share, compared to Internet Explorer's 32.7 percent. That's up from 33.59 percent in August and down from 32.85 percent respectively.
IE and Chrome are still rather close and are probably going to stay close for the next few months, especially with IE 10 landing very soon.
Firefox on the other hand can't stop the slide and lost a bit more marketshare in September. It went from 22.85 percent in August to 22.4 percent in September, a small change, but a drop nonetheless.
Not much has changed in the last month and, while we may see some differences in the few coming months it's unlikely we're going to see any surprises apart from IE possibly overtaking Chrome temporarily.
