Google Offers, competitor to group-buying sites like Groupon and LivingSocial, is expanding into two new markets — New York and San Francisco.

Google is kicking off the expansion with deals in each city Tuesday. Consumers can sign up at Google Offers or via the new “Today’s Offer” tab in Google Shopper 2.0 for Android to receive emails with local offers for both cities.

The service is also rolling out special deals in both cities. In New York, there are offers with Pommes Frites, Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar and Tonnie’s Minis. In San Francisco, participating restaurants include Bot’s Donut & Pastry Shop and Le Bateau Ivre Restaurant in Berkeley. A video below features interviews with local business owners in both cities about their plans to use Google Offers.

Google Offers went live in April in the Portland, Oregon, market. Since then, Groupon and LivingSocial have moved to the next level — instant deals beamed to users’ mobile phones. Initially, both launched their competing instant deals services in their hometowns. (Chicago for Groupon and Washington, D.C., for LivingSocial), but both have expanded into New York and, in LivingSocial’s case, San Francisco.
