Is greed really such a bad thing? Sure, it may cause the wealthy to withhold help toward the poor, or a man to rob a store for his own personal gain. But, it's also the same thing that causes people to help due to wanting to feel good about themselves, feel like they've helped the world. Without Greed, no one would want to help because they'd feel no personal gain. Whether or not you believe it is kindness, it is merely greed. I for one love Greed as a deadly sin for this exact reason. It has so much potential to be a great thing. I'd love to hear some more opinions on it.
One of my favorite quotes. It's in the context of replying to someone who agrees Greed is bad.
"I disagree. You want to bring back someone that you've lost. You might want money. Maybe you want women. Or, you might want to protect the world. These are all common things people want. Things that their hearts desire. Greed may not be good, but it's not so bad, either. Humans think greed is just for money and power! But everyone wants something they don't have."
