What is Over-locking?

Over-clocking a computer's processor or memory causes it to go faster than its factory rated speed. A processor rated at 2.4GHz might be over-clocked to 2.5GHz

Risk of Over-Clocking

Over-clocking comes with many risks, such as overheating, so you should become familiar with all the pros and cons before you attempt it. Additionally, over-clocking isn't supported by the major chip manufacturers which means over-clocking your CPU will void your warranty. Over-clocking can also decrease the lifespan of the CPU, cause failure in critical components and may even result in some data corruption. You may also notice an increase in unexplainable crashes and freezes.
