According to me it is one and the only one Harry Potter!
Lord of the Rings is a prime example of a better movie than book adaptation. I tried reading the books but can't get into the lyrical story. Tolkien said he wrote it as an experiment linguistics. The story does have fantastic creatures and epic journeys but the books make exciting event boring with the language used. The movies cut away all of the boring language, focus on the battles and imagery, and add in great, meaningful dialogue. Many people disagree but this is my preference.
Getting back to Harry Potter. The books are terrific and beautifully written. There is no comparison between it and Lord of the Rings, in the sense that Harry Potter is written in normal modern prose and language, making for a quick, easy read. The visuals are just as fantastic and require great imagination on the readers' part. We all imagine the same text different ways.
