The computing section is dead, so I figured I'd post this here, as I need a quick hand. I'm after a gaming laptop under $1800 AUD AFTER POSTAGE.

I was looking at the Maingear Pulse 14, but it would cost ~ $650 to get shipped to me, putting the final price over $2100. I want a decent GPU/CPU, however the CPU doesn't need to be i7 or anything, as an i3-3220 will play any game on the market without bottlenecking, it's mainly the GPU that's the issue. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. The MSi GX70's CPU SEVERELY bottlenecks the GPU, so that's out of the question too.

Thats a lot of money. You should buy custom parts to a computer and build it yourself. Your PC would be insane.

check them out, and you may as well go for an i7 as games in the future will be hyper-threading supported = moar powurz
an i3 will bottleneck in the future, well, it's starting now with games like BF4 that are optimized for more than 2 cores. An i3 is a dual-core so like i said, with your budget an i7 will be perfect.

Heads up everyone, Raptor is a AussyKunt so the markup there is huge.

Not sure why you think the GT70 is bottlenecked, VERY little games are CPU intensive to begin with. It's the best laptop in that Priceerformance area.

It's the GX70 that's bottlenecked - it's proven. I've gone with the GE70. Closing this.
