Help! urgent!!

Okay, so on my old Twitter that I just deleted I had a message button on the middle right hand side of the screen when I would click "Me" and there was a message button where I could send direct messages from there. Now, when I click me I don't have that button anymore and for me to get to my private messages I have to go to that gear button with a drop down menu.. Can anyone help me?

I edited my post so it makes more sense. Read it now. Basically on my new twitter I don't have a message button and I have to do a few extra steps to send a message.
