Leader said:Africans had many civilizations before the Europeans came, and we've studied them in school before. That example falls through.
Jesus had dark skin, most likely similar to that of anyone from the Middle East.
Never heard of the last one.
Also, you do realize that not all history is based upon the writings of the "winner", right? Archaeologists find tangible evidence of old civilizations all the time. For example, the Pyramids of Giza, Machu Pichu, ancient artifacts such as tools or holy books, etc.
California said:Thats my point. but school teaches you that black people were basically "Just like monkeys" and still to this day portrays africa as a shit hole. But africa has a very diverse and beautiful culture. Of course it has bad areas just like everywhere else, but thats all you see so youth grow up thinking that black contributed little to nothing to society.
Again my point exactly, you cant live basically outside but apparently look like a anemic patient. ( I was posing these as questions).
the last one is also true, i honestly believe if all those archieves could have been studied, black people as a whole would have gotten more credit then what they are given for.
Leader said:Black people may not even be given credit. There might not be credit to give in the first place. Africans were oppressed so badly by Europeans that I wouldn't doubt it.
California said:before i get a 2 page essay from cannibal just hear me out.
Do you honestly believe everything written in a textbook?
Example : Funny how every race his a background and historical inventions, or important dates/events. but Black people apparently were NEVER civilized until Europeans came?
Example 2: Do you honestly believe ( Whether you believe or not) That Jesus Christ was a pale faced white man, when he spent almost his whole life outside? I'm not saying he was black, but im pretty sure with all the time he spent outside he would have been a mexicans complexion . Its only common sense, the more time you're outside the darker/tanner you get.
Example 3: Why is that they're 7-9 MILES yes MILES of the vatican library that can't be read or even accessed? Of history written before the times of king james, and possibly even when jesus walked the earth (again if you believe).
The thing people do not realize is history= His- story = History is written by the winner.
The winner can make up whatever basically, because who can tell him other wise, the loser is often told as a evil wicked person. But who is to tell that he wasn't ?
history is bullshit, in a lot of matters you'll NEVER know the truth. but in other things you have to look for yourself, dont look towards the news. because all they'll tell you is about stock market, murder, and wars that have false reason.

California said:thats not what i meant. i love history. But its not all true. thats what im trying to get accross
Morphine said:Holy shit. My teacher has been talking about "His-story" and other shit youve explained all year. What state do you live in?
Cicero said:We don't really have much else to go off of besides what people of the past have recorded, at least when it comes to things that can't accurately be determined through archaeology. We can sit here and bitch about it as much as we want, but it's not really something we can halt or change. We could go ahead and stick our heads in the sand and say that every bit of it is inaccurate and false, but to say that about every piece of recorded history would be extremely ignorant. What we can do is take the information given to us and think about where the information came from and try to pry away any possible prejudices that may have come from that original source.
California said:I never said, that every bit of info recorded was false or inaccurate. Idk where you got that from.
history is bullshit, in a lot of matters you'll NEVER know the truth.
Cicero said:I'm sorry, I should have specified that you said "a lot" and not "all".
Anyways, it doesn't change the fact that this is a useless thread that's doing nothing more than stating the obvious. For anyone to believe that any source has all the facts or is completely unbiased would be quite the monument to ignorance.
