Homeschool or Traditional school

School has started here in our country. I have read an article about a family who prefers to teach their children at home. Unlike with the traditional school setting, the parents are the ones teaching at their own pace and time. This is what we call homeschool.

Homeschool is legal and supervised by correspondence schools. Stanford University and Harvard University are just two examples of schools who have accepted homeschooled students for which we know they have highly selective standards of admission.

Which one do you prefer, homeschool or traditional school?

I'm going to choose Traditional school any day, since, well first of all social advantage. You develop social connections that may last forever, not to mention you get some friends. Meaning they are good for your future. You also develop some social skills, learning to speak with complete strangers etc. Traditional school also offers teamwork between teachers and students.
Homeschool may seem more like a prison. You are all alone in a room reading and learning and you even have prison guards Mom and Dad or homeschool teacher. Sure you can learn in your own pace, but you still don't develop that important skill of expressing your thoughts with a voice.
Also in homeschool you might not get an honest opinion on your work. I mean teachers and fellow students are more harsh on you than your mom and dad. Also how can you deal failure if you are taught to win all the time?

In conclusion I choose Traditional school for its social benefits and more.

RE: Homeschool or Traditional school

very home school kid ive met has been well educated and responcible. most have life skills and problem solving.

traditional school kids for the most part are better socalized but are not responcble and have no life skills; problem solving seems to be blame it on someone else.
