Housing for the poor

Hi!

I am from a country where the rich and the poor are very extremes!
Of course, if you are a rich, you might question the government, why they are providing for the poor while the rich pays taxes and got nothing free.
It is a simple law of equality right?
We have a saying that, ask not what the government can do for you, ask what you can do for the government. When the poor are starving, they blame the government, when they got no house, they blame the government. And the government provides subsidy, even in monetary value, how will these poor people learn how to fish if they are well provided by the government?

then there's also the question of morality. of course you have to consider it too.

I live in the State of Hawaii in the US and boy a lot of people are being taken care of by our state government. Our state also suffers from homeless people from mainland states. Basically they give them one way ticket to Hawaii because the climate is ideal, they won't die of heat or cold. There's also the surge of people from the Federated States of Micronesia where the US tested nuclear bombs. Because of that testing, the people of Micronesia enjoys government subsidies (housing, education, food stamp, etc.) They even have access to this military hospital for US citizens only. They get benefits the moment they step off the plane. A lot of people are bitching about them. Many of them drive cars and some of them don't work. Or if they do work, they get only one job so they can stay subsidize by the government.

It's really a hard world we live in.

Well, I know one thing. I am tired of paying out of my pocket for stupid lazy fucking people twice a month. Not that our government has done much to help, other than force me to take care of these people. The whole situation angers me.

yes, I think about equality, working our ass*s off while somewhere out there, there are people who are just waiting to be served and are enjoying the fruits of our labor.
We are all equal beings, in shape and in opportunities, and in capacity. It's just that we don't make anything about them properly.

I dont believe we are all equal, or have equal opportunities. You see, its really easy to disect society, how it all works, and discuss all of the things that no one else wants to discuss. Natural selection, bias, favortism, discrimination, profiling, etc. all play a much bigger factor than anyone wants to admit. Every decision is made or influenced by those things. Every single one of them. Its what we base our whole upon. Look at marketing for example.

Edit: That might have to be a new thread..^

I say equality because in a country we all live in the same land, the opportunities are there, it just needs are strategy how to tackle ad enhance those opportunities. and I think survival of the fittest it say. That's what I meant by equality, equal resources, equal capabilities, we only differ in knowledge and wit

I know what your're saying and agree somewhat. But someone born with both severe autism and cerebral paulsy do not have the same opportunity, mentally or physically. It bothers me.

ah.. yeah, those are the exception because as I had said, same capabilities, I was only talking about those who have the same number of hands and legs, that's what I mean by capability.
the rich and the poor differ only on how much their net assets are. But put them in the same environment with no rich and status on the start, of course, some will prove mightiest, and others will be reaping nothing. So, since they had been given equal chances, it is for the losers to take the consequences of losing and not the mightiest giving what they had reaped to these "losers". I hope I am clear this time.
