How do you design?

How do you design your web templates or forum skins? Do you just code as you go and make changes that way, or do you create a layout of it on a program like Photoshop then code it accordingly?

I don't make a layout. I just go for it. lol. I use this program on my iMac called, 'Coda' which is probably the best code editing software I've ever seen.

I also use Photoshop CS5.

So I just think of the layout and apply it to my design by just coding first. Though I may design it first(later projects) as I think it may be better.

I've always been confused on how to use a photoshop web template, so I just code as I go.

I'd usually use Photoshop CS3 for my graphics/art.

Friends create them , i program them.

I create layouts first because that is the hardest job according to me as it shows the practicality of our schematics in our mind.

I design all of my web designs and forum skins in Photoshop, I then slice the files and after that, I go into Dreamweaver and code it accordingly.
