This started as a response to a thread that was removed, so it's now being posted here. I'd like others opinions on the direction of the forum and how much longer you expect it to be around.
The thread I was responding to was taking notice in the amount of multi-accounts on this forum and the rarity of new members.
Philly spent all his advertising money centered around Original Gamertags, now that market is dead, and we're left with nothing to attract new members. To attract new members he'd have to center the site around something else, which would basically be like starting a new forum (especially with the harsh members here, new members are rarely ever warmly welcomed) which could be done, and would continue this forum on its success. However the amount of money Philly would have to spend, there wouldn't be enough for him to live off of. With the amount of money being put into the site at the moment, it will not grow. Users here usually only stay for a year or two. I give this site at most three more years of life before the community moves on and there isn't enough traffic to support it anymore.
I believe the amount of money needed to be spent on advertising for an active amount of new members is a very large. Although I'm not aware of the number that is currently being spent on advertising I'm assuming that the number is quite low. I just don't see this site continuing the path it has been for much longer.
Another issue I see is the word filtering. This isn't a rant on the staff doing a bad job. As of the moment I'm not familiar with any staff member, and I don't know of any injustice the community is undoubtedly assuming them of (it's been going on since 2011). I think members simply need to do a better job of reporting posts and staff need to handle reports in a timely matter. Rainbows and words being forcefully changed just makes the forum look childish, and I can't see that attracting new members.
Just a few of my opinions. I meant no offense towards anyone.
