How much longer do you expect this forum to be "alive"?

This started as a response to a thread that was removed, so it's now being posted here. I'd like others opinions on the direction of the forum and how much longer you expect it to be around.

The thread I was responding to was taking notice in the amount of multi-accounts on this forum and the rarity of new members.

Philly spent all his advertising money centered around Original Gamertags, now that market is dead, and we're left with nothing to attract new members. To attract new members he'd have to center the site around something else, which would basically be like starting a new forum (especially with the harsh members here, new members are rarely ever warmly welcomed) which could be done, and would continue this forum on its success. However the amount of money Philly would have to spend, there wouldn't be enough for him to live off of. With the amount of money being put into the site at the moment, it will not grow. Users here usually only stay for a year or two. I give this site at most three more years of life before the community moves on and there isn't enough traffic to support it anymore.

I believe the amount of money needed to be spent on advertising for an active amount of new members is a very large. Although I'm not aware of the number that is currently being spent on advertising I'm assuming that the number is quite low. I just don't see this site continuing the path it has been for much longer.

Another issue I see is the word filtering. This isn't a rant on the staff doing a bad job. As of the moment I'm not familiar with any staff member, and I don't know of any injustice the community is undoubtedly assuming them of (it's been going on since 2011). I think members simply need to do a better job of reporting posts and staff need to handle reports in a timely matter. Rainbows and words being forcefully changed just makes the forum look childish, and I can't see that attracting new members.

Just a few of my opinions. I meant no offense towards anyone.

Why are you acting like there is a need for advertising and attracting new members? I'll give you that there are few new members that are actually 'new' or stay around for more than a week. But I don't think that this has any adverse effects on the site's popularity, numbers, or longevity. If the site's current formula for advertising stayed the same, I do not think the forum would decline, unless something extreme occurred. Likely something staff related, I'm assuming.

I have to disagree. We have been growing EVERYDAY. I spend money out of my own pocket for ads, same with philly. Yes, we have put ads out for original gamertags but that isnt even close to all of our ads. We already have a mass amount of users on this site, with that being said word of mouth is very powerful. You assuming that the amount of money we have spent is low is silly because it is more than false.

Thanks for the laugh, FK isn't going anywhere anytime soon! Your entire post is based on assumptions, that is noway to go about things. You clearly have no clue what we put into FK.

People lost interest. It's as simple as that. Theres 50,000 registered members and only 400 have visited today. I haven't been keeping track but that seems to me as a very steady number. People get banned at an insane rate, (look at my rep, I know none of the members but a majority of them are banned) people leave, and when a member has lost their friends on the site, they move on as well. You can't keep an audience forever. There's a reason MySpace died. Facebook is dying. People move on. They need to expand and at the moment I just don't see an audience. People aren't joining and you're not the sharpest tool in the shed if you think a community will continue to exist without new members.

FK was a thousand times smaller back when I joined in '11. I have seen all the new members join over time and a lot of the time they stay active for at least a year. This is one of the bigger, growing forums that I have seen around when compared to other "community forums".

My entire post is based on being a user of the internet since I was six years old. Twelve years later, things haven't changed much. What websites that were popular then are still popular? Did you see how fast MySpace died? Look at YouTube channels, they rarely remain popular a year or two after they've "blown up".

I don't want to argue with you, I enjoy your site. I'm just stating, the forum won't continue to be popular if it doesn't continue to grow. It simply isn't growing at the rate it used to. If it doesn't pick up the forum will die and if you can't see that, then I don't know what to tell ya.

Maybe if scammers like you were gone the quality of the forum would be better and more enjoyable.

That is where you are wrong, and very sadly mistaken. The stats has never been so good, and never gone up so fast. We are growing each and everyday since the day of creation. Obviously as I have said you clearly know nothing of what you are talking about as literally the stats are basically the biggest they have EVER been on FK. Everything is great for us, you are obviously just a negative individual that bases his theories on assumptions, and extremely outrageous rumors.

I have to log off for a bit. I assume by the time I return this thread will be closed or junked. If an password reset could be sent to my email like a requested through the automated PW reset, or from Philly like I asked and wasn't given any type of actual answer to my problem ( http://gyazo.com/774b3df050ee29b0e8be7538e04a5980 ), I would love to continue this discussion from my mobile device.

I'm not a member of the community I'm a member of the site. I have heard no rumors since I do not associate with any members of this site. Numbers may be looking good now but numbers always decline. I don't know what to say to you if you don't think decline isn't inevitable. I'm actually a very positive in my personal life, if you took the time to know me in the almost three years I've been a member you would know that. I'm just stating there is no center piece for the site and I don't see any attraction that will keep members, or attract new ones.

Nah subscribers on youtube aren't loyal as they used to be back in the early days of youtube (2007, 2006, 2008). EX: 10k subscribers = 20k+ views but now days 4 million subscribers = 1 million views.

There is reasons I have emails disabled... Not everything is for the public to know about. If you would post an account recovery or private inquiry on the matter it would be handled asap as I told you via aim. TBH you are lucky you got a response from me at all, I am busy, and I have a team that helps out as well which people don't understand and just go straight to contacting me first, the busiest guy on the site. Makes perfect sense... We literally have never declined in stats EVER I don't even see how that would be possible truthfully.

Also what are you talking about original gamertags for? That is just one section on the site out of hundreds... It is not even our most active section and, it is not our center piece, nor do I want it to be. We are a general forum, with sections FOR ALL! With a marketplace for ANYTHING! I advertise more than you and anyone else thinks, and not one of my advertisements has EVER been for original gamertags. Might I add at this day in age our social mediums sections is double in activity when it comes to the gamertag market, and if you think social medium sells will ever go tits up then you must be really dumb because there will not be a day pass that people won't desire a sick username on a social media website that they frequent on. Hell people pay for original usernames on FK even, and facebook alone gets more traffic per second than FK gets a year. I honestly cannot understand your philosophy on the sites dying when we have been so damn strong for over 3 years now, SOOOOOO STRONG! I am starting to get the feeling you are perhaps lonely, and need to cause drama for attention.

PS: Why the hell would I junk the thread? Feel free to state your opinions why would I care, you are only making the site more active... Funny how that works ehh?

You've never spent money on advertising Original Gamertags but if you google "Original Gamertags" this is the first site it links to, and the domain originalgamertags.com redirects to this site. I've been a member for years now Philly. When I was more active I saw every single post you had ever made, up until about a year ago. I know for a fact you advertised this site around Gamertags. I'm a fan of the site. I browse it as frequently as I browse Reddit or Twitter. I'm not lonely by any means. I have a girlfriend, a best friend, and many other friends in my circle, most of whom I see in person on a daily basis. I was simply asking how you expect to prevent the site from declining when I don't see any advertising going on anymore. Eventually the current community will fall out and will have to be replaced with new members. I just was wondering how you expect to keep up with a current community and their interests. To be honest I wasn't expecting such an immature response from the admin, you said I was speaking nonesense with no proof to back myself up, but you yourself just blurted out a response with no stats to back yourself up.

What on earth is holding you back...

That is because I know search engine optimization, and obviously if I am going to do something I am going to try my best at being number 1. We get a steady flow of members registering daily, and nothing is declining, and never will. I also don't feel the need to provide proof of shit, you can fuck off how about. I advertise, and have advertised since the start of FK more so now than EVER. You literally have no fucking idea of what you are talking about.
