How to be a Good Poster

Hey guys,

I'm going to show you guys how to be a good poster and how to be high quality. Hopefully we will get more high quality posts after this thread .

1) When making a thread, always start it with "Hey Guys" , or a general address. It sets a tone to your audience.

2) Always type with proper grammar. Personally, I think that it looks bad when people speak like their texting, this is a forum, you're supposed to put some effort into posting. Better grammar = better results.

3) When replying to a thread, try to type more than one sentence. This makes the thread more active, thus people will reply and take more attention to your post. It also makes the community look educated.

4) Try not to double post - It will just merge. We have a 'Multi Quote' feature, and it makes it look better.

5) Make sure that your topics have a definite subject. With a definite and clear-cut subject, others will know what you are talking about, thus making the thread more interesting. It's also best to come straight to the point rather than beating around the bush.

6) When making a thread, use the BBCode listed above to help you make certain parts of it stand out. It makes the thread easier to read and better organized. It's also better than having a big block of text.

7) Don't post irrelevant replies. When posting a reply, say what you want to say... Also, don't flame people. You can post your opinion without flaming someone.

8) Don't copy and paste word-for-word. Copying & pasting word-for-word just looks bad, and it makes you look like a leecher. Also, different forums have different smilies, so if you do copy and paste word-for-word, it's going to look stupid when their smiley doesn't work on your forum.

9) Use the search button before posting a thread - It stops from things being posted multiple times which just becomes annoying.

Thanks, and sorry for posting in the Announcements section, but I thought it might be the best place
