How to get -65 magic bonus?

Soon, at 80 mage, I'm going to be stun/alching. The only thing is I'm a pure with level 1 defense. Even with full iron (full helm, platebody, platelegs, boots, kiteshield) I have -58 magic attack, and in order to splash I need -65. If I don't wield my Mud Staff, then I get -68, but then I lose tons of money. What can I wear that will give me that extra -7 magic attack bonus to get me to -65? Or is this just impossible with someone who has one defense?

Any dragonhide vambraces will give you more than -65.
But it is impossible to have -65 on low defence with Hati Paws

Heres what you wear:

Full any suit of armour, except legs. no amulet, green dragonhide legs and vambs

With 40+ def, dragonhide body.

That should get you -65 or more in attack

At the moment I'm 60 attack / 60 strength / 55 hp / 11 prayer / 69 magic. If I get range up to 40 (to wear green d'hide), will that ruin my pure in the long run? I haven't played in a while so it's hard for me to remember things.

You only need 40 defense for the body and coif. You don't need 40 defense for the vambs and leggings. So as long as your wearing full iron (or something similar), just wear vambs and you should have -65.

But my question is, would it hurt to get 40 range with my current stats?

No, if you have melee stats your ranged and magic levels will not effect your combat level as much.

Say you have:

60 attack
99 strength
1 defense
whatever HP
40 range
99 mage

Neither range, nor mage will effect your end-game combat level.

With Lv.80 Mage? I wouldn't think so, since a majority of your CB level is based off of Mage, I wouldn't expect it to change much getting range up to 40. Aren't there some Pure Mage/Range hybrids as well?

Well at my current stats, I am 54 cmb and wouldn't level up in cmb until I hit 82 mage. But yeah, Dykerosoft cleared things up for me.

I forgot to mention that I'm 11 pray. I did the pre-requisites (which solely got me to level 11 pray) to get into the Experiments cave to train attack and strength. But that doesn't bother me, I think I'll be getting 52 prayer eventually.

Most hybrids end up getting 52 prayer so that they can drain the persons prayer anyway.

TurmZerkers are one of the best builds, but you need a lot of cash to get it there.
