I am going to be teaching you how to keep your PC secure and safe.
Step One:
-Security:
Always have security on your computer.
No matter where you live, while you are online connected to the inter-webs you are in the Big League.
I highly recommend that you tidy up your computer with security as you surf the inter-webs.
Have anti-virus software.
Step Two:
-Safety:
Know what you are working with, don't be clicking random links that your friends send you as it could be a pop-up website.
Another thing is have complete caution on what you download for personal uses.
Always scan the file if you know it's sketchy.
Step Three:
-Anti-Virus:
Have a anti-virus program always on your PC. I'm sure if you don't want to pay $40 for anti-virus software. If not download a free anti-virus software (for example: Ad-Ware Anti-virus).
Scan your PC every 1-2 weeks as for you to check if there are any problems with your PC.
Also, update your anti-virus as there are many new virus's made everyday to get around anti-virus programs to harm your PC.
Step Four:
-Security Checklist:
Keep Windows up to date with critical updates.
Keep an eye on those icons, antivirus, firewall, and other types of security software place status icons in the system tray.
Look at those everyday and check if there are only icon's that you know of.
Be aware of attachments, viruses can often arrive in e-mail's with spoofed return addresses, so only open attachments from sources you trust.
