Alright i made this tutorial to try and share my knowledge on how to grow a YouTube. This is the best method on how to grow a YouTube channel, BUT it doesn't cover much advertising. It's up to you to go out and advertise.
1. Must REGULARLY upload HD quality videos - SD videos are not tolerated, so HD is a must. People get upset when they can't see crystal clear HD!
2. Must be dedicated - This sounds like a given, but you have to really want it. You must upload regularly and have at least 30-60 mins set aside a day to advertise.
3. Post video responses to slightly bigger YouTubers. People that have .5K-5K subs should be a small enough channel to get your video response out there. You want to post to channels that don't have an immense amount of subs (.5K-5K) and post the response as soon as the video is released.
4. Make sure you have a nice layout to your channel. My channel which is featured at the bottom of this guide is very concise. We have links to our Twitter, Facebook, Own3D.TV, Keek, and Emails. Make sure you have several ways for your subs to interact.
5. Most of you guys have OG gamertags, so put your YouTube channel in your gamertags bio! It's free advertising!
6. Upload Schedule - I upload a video everyday, whether it's a montage, commentary, or just a channel update
7. No copywrited music - Don't get a strike or you can't get partnered!
8. Make an original series - If you look at my channel (You can find it at the bottom of this thread) we have tons of original series!
9. Get a brand name - Whatever your channel is called, rep that everywhere!

I have my own personal methods i use to advertise, but I'm sure you guys can devise your own. Small giveaways are a simple easy way to help promote your YouTube. Another way is to pick a game that is not over saturated in content. It's very easy to make COD videos, but everyone knows this which is why they do it! Pick new releases, Borderlands 2 would be a great game for a "Lets Play Series". My Youtube page is a community page where i allow other people to submit videos. We started the channel about a month ago, but didn't upload till about 3 weeks ago. We already have 500 subs with over 6,000 video views, the only external help i received was from my friend who gave me a base of 25 subs with a shout out. You need to be able to find forums, websites, and ways to promote your videos, but you also need to have videos on the channel or there is no reason to promote the channel. If you want do sub4sub for 25 subs just to make it seem like your channel has a base. Make sure you utilize xbox as a way of advertising. Tell your friends to check out your page as well as sending an occasional message to all recent players. You will need to be intuitive and creative in order to advertise. You will also need help. Even if you have 4 videos on your channel with 4 subs, try to contact a guy who has 50 subs and ask him to help you out or do a dual commentary. We are already eligible for a social blade partnership, but like i said it did take a lot of work as starting up a channel is hard. We didn't ever use sub4sub not once!
