You can remove with dos.

1) Find virus file(through Process watcher or an advanced task manager.
2) Close Process.
3) change file attribute with dos on 'Attrib virus.exe -r -h -s'.
4) delete file with dos 'del virus.exe '.
5) go to registry editor and Search for virus files and delete all hives with virus information.
OR

The best way to detect the virus affected files is to use COMMAND PROMPT in Windows XP.

1) Click On Start
2)Open RUN
3)Type there "cmd" without the quotes.
4)Search for files having extintions rather than ".exe .doc .eml .html etc"
5)If such file found than delete it by typing "del<space>the file name with the extintion"without the quotes
6)Hit ENTER
THE WORK IS DONE!

This works fine. But be careful, i've heard that some important files on your computer doesn't use the normal type of extensions. Be cautious!

Definitely be cautious. I usually just use system restore to reverse the effects of a virus, and if there are no system restore points, i usually restart my system and press f8, so that i can go into safe mode. There is usually a system restore point to go back to in safe mode. Hasn't failed me yet.

yes this is also my method for manually removing trojans as well. This does not always work on all trojans though so be careful.

Cool thanks for the tips, there's other ways but this is also a good way of helping and to help identify a virus, nice going.

A friend sof mine said she tried this, and didn't really get good results. But she's a girl who knows nothing much about computers. Perhaps she messed up *shrug*
