How to secure Tumblr?

What is the method to do this? Thanks!

I think you can swap it and claim it with only your IP, so you have 24 hours to claim it or some shit. So you swap it and no one can claim it until like 24 hours has passed so it'll give you enough time for you to claim it. Then you can add 2FA.

Thanks! I'm thinking of buying one though so how would I go about buying and then securing?

Step 1: find a seller
Step 2: buy the tumblr
Step 3: do what I just said above

Ahh okay. So I buy it then sign in which will automatically link it to my IP and then I can fuck around for 24 hours to swap and then enable 2FA. Thanks man!

No the best way is to ask them to swap it to a secondary account and then add you as a manager on that account. Then you can basically get it onto your own tumblr account. Way safer.

Being dead serious, do people actually jack tumblrs?

This method is only if you want to secure the URL and not the actual account. So it doesn't work for stat accounts or anything.

Steps:

- The seller makes a secondary blog on his tumblr account and swaps the url from the primary to the newly created secondary. (No you won't lose the url)
- The seller adds you, the buyer, as an admin of the secondary blog.
- The seller removes himself as an admin
- You repeat the first step but instead the other way around where you swap the secondary blog url to the primary

This way you'll not only have secured the URL without losing it, the original owner can't pull it back from you.

Ok so when I swap from the secondary to the primary URL it's still on the same account it started on?

No you have to create a new account. The seller will add the new account as an admin of the secondary blog. This way it basically makes you the only owner of the username.
