Well I guess it depends, would we not end up becoming them I guess? Since they would be clones they would be alike us in every way.Epic said:I recently read a few articles about cloning becoming increasingly advanced.
However don't you think that the clones might end up taking over the world in the future?
Sooner or later, we will develop clones to the extent that we can make them stronger, smarter and faster. They would become another group of humans that we might even end up going to war with them.
I just wanted to know your opinions about this.
Oui, but would they be making themselves perfect, or perfect copies?Xypher said:I honestly think it is a great idea. If the human race is going to force its dominance upon the universe, they might as well make themselves near perfect.

Epic said:Sorry, I don't get you at all.
You can't compare human cloning to a atom bomb. =/
You have a point, but in reality, how on earth in 8 years are we going to be living on other planets, when we can't go to the moon again?Epic said:Loving your HQ posts Wired- =]

I completely agree with you about a population increase in Earth, but don't you think that by that time, humans would have developed technology to live on other planets.
In some topic I read a while ago, it said that the Hilton was planning on building the first space hotel on the moon, launching in 2020 or something.
I agree Wired, it takes at least 2-4 years I think to build a rocket to the moon, and at this point we can't even go to mars, I say it's totally likely cloning will be available before mars.Wired- said:You have a point, but in reality, how on earth in 8 years are we going to be living on other planets, when we can't go to the moon again?Epic said:Loving your HQ posts Wired- =]

By the rate that science is improving, basically everyday, human cloning could well be in place before we move onto other planets.
Another point, it will take forever to travel to planets far away such as Mars. It would take years to go any further. I think moving planets is flawed. :-/
Then we would be screwed with overpopulationSir said:I agree Wired, it takes at least 2-4 years I think to build a rocket to the moon, and at this point we can't even go to mars, I say it's totally likely cloning will be available before mars.Wired- said:You have a point, but in reality, how on earth in 8 years are we going to be living on other planets, when we can't go to the moon again?Epic said:Loving your HQ posts Wired- =]

We probably will edit them to become our undswerving loyal slaves, as that is how humanity is.FibSaSk said:When we will be able to make clones of ourselves, we should edit our clones so that they won't have our evilness and greed in them. Else, what mentioned to happen in the OP is most likely to happen.
But don't you think that we have much time before we can do perfect cloning?
HakkuR* said:That will be crazy and amazing to do it soon human and animals shall arrive.
This is a huge question that is strongly debated. Again it ties into my original argument, detailing the pros and cons of cloning or genetic modification. I recently did a presentation on designer babies and it's a subject closely related to this. Whilst modifying babies to allow them to grow without any chance of hereditary disease or something similar is a great thing, but the fact this surpasses natural selection and it brings the chance of an aryan race, with people modifying a babies genes to allow them to have specific hair/eye colour is a problem.Epic said:However it would then become a ethical and a religious problem.
One of the most asked questions would be whether we have the right to play God.
