I don't see why anyone would hate it. Yeah it is a bit overpriced, but not a lot. I got the i5 quad core one, with 4 gb RAM (upgradeable to 16 gb) and 1 terabyte harddrive. the 27 inch display is beautiful. The best tv's have a resolution of 1080i this computer goes to like 2400 or 2560i. The machine is almost completely silent, very rarely you can hear a low hum. It also comes with great music and video making software which I need because I'm in a band. Yes, you can play almost any game on it, such as civ 5 etc... the computer starts up within 20 seconds with no pops. It also has great additions such as expose, spaces, appstore and the iLife '11 that comes with it. The imac has apps which convert video to any format. The best part is that I can legally and easily use a complete version of windows on it. Yes you can turn snow leopard on a windows computer, but its illegal and you don't get all the features.
