I really need to get back into programming.

I mean I haven't been programming in a long time. None at all.

What would be some cool, neat programs I should start with?

It doesn't matter what language it is, VB.NET, C#, Java, C++, PHP, HTML, Delphi, Python, etc, if you master any language you can make money off it.

Pick a language, any language, and learn it.
Or better yet, go to school.
