Now cut down some of the tape. You don't want any to touch the gray rubber otherwise the tape can irritate your ears.
Listen to your music and hear the difference. If your ears hurt, you can use some soft electrical tape and put that over the Scotch tape. Make sure not to damage the actual headphones!
