Ok so, we're all trying to figure out why Instagram is fucking us in the ass. (Well you guys, I'm just here helping trying to figure out why, so I don't get fucked too)
Here's what I've noticed:
If you remember Kevin's account @/Rage, he always posted those tumblr pictures without giving credits.
So what I believe is, Instagram is going strict with the copyright of pictures.
As stated in the rules:
"Do not share photos or videos that aren't yours"
Those photos he posted are obviously not his but do belong to users who are Tumblrs.
Now, for the people who have been banned what type of pictures did you post? This would give us an idea if that rule 1 was the reason.
I know that some OGs I've seen on Instagram like to post the same type of photos that Kevin posted and tbh it was annoying af seeing the same pictures from different people on my feed.
What I suggest if you're going to repost a photo that isn't yours
GIVE CREDITS!
An example of a giving credits to photos would be:
www.instagram.com/nature
He gives credits to the rightful owners.
And I believe that's how you do it, otherwise if you don't it's basically considered as like "plagiarizing".
I've even deleted 100+ photos on my other account which I didn't give credits to, just incase the 1st rule is the reason.
I also have a similar account like Kevin's with tumblr pictures and I'm going to keep it on and test it if that is the reason.
(I am NOT saying this is the reason of the ban wave, it's an idea)
You can drop your ideas of the ban wave and some may be useful in solving this puzzle.
I don't think the IG banning method was put into play because if it was,
I'm pretty sure the person who used the method would go for scammers first OR if he was a scammer himself, he would go for people he disliked.
Instagrams that are being sold on the market in the Social Mediums page, I believe there's no way Instagram staff could view the page (unless they are registered) because I've signed out and tried to actually see if the social mediums page was viewable in Guest mode and I was not able to.
