So this dude gave me a 2.5k for free, since I started on a fresh. He said so I won't look like a skid lol. I changed email pass and attached my fb. Is it safe to switch one of my @'s or can he still pull it back and take the username.

No you can still pull it back, I have a service on this Forum for it. It is the easiest thing in the world. Instagram service sucks a lot.

In fact I have done it before after my IG got hacked.

Just ask him (the person that gave you the account) politely to open up the reset e-mail and/or delete it [via Join.me]. This will guarantee a disability of pulling the account back (unless he knows how to "call it in", which is extremely difficult and takes an Instagram master to do such).
