So this dude gave me a 2.5k for free, since I started on a fresh. He said so I won't look like a skid lol. I changed email pass and attached my fb. Is it safe to switch one of my @'s or can he still pull it back and take the username.

There is a still a chance he can pull back the account he gave you because he may still have the password reset link in his email.

I am not sure but i doubt it might want to ask someone who knows a little better such as @sector

He can still pull it back with his facebook if he wanted
 
Just ask him (the person that gave you the account) politely to open up the reset e-mail and/or delete it [via Join.me]. This will guarantee a disability of pulling the account back (unless he knows how to "call it in", which is extremely difficult and takes an Instagram master to do such).
