I got a problem with my laptop not connecting to my modem when wired. The wireless works just fine. But i know for sure i get a stronger connection when wired. Dose anyone know a fix for this? I called roadrunner and they said its something in windows vista so i need to call Microsoft. Some help would nice. Thanks :)

About Wireless vs Wired, there shouldnt be much of a difference but it depends on the network card in your laptop.

You got any other ethernet ports on your laptop?

try going into the network and sharing center and disabling the wireless card (dont wory if it doesnt work just re-enable it) and then enable the wired conection if it isnt allready
i hope this helps m8

You can try getting a USB wifi card.

Carlolus has a point maybe go to hardware manager and update your drivers, other than that the only thing i can sugest is check you hardware actualy works becaus my old laptop i fried the networking card in it and it said it was working perfectly but it wouldnt conect so i went to a PC repair place gave it to the guy behind the counter, looked him straight in the eyes and said (this is the important part ;) ) "MEND THIS!!!" and pointed to my laptop then after a day he said the network card was f**ked.
but then again it could be your ethernet cable either its not pluged in (somthing might be stuck in the socket blocking the conections) or its broken maybe you shut it in a door or somthing.
but if none of all that ^ works then i dont know
