Carlolus has a point maybe go to hardware manager and update your drivers, other than that the only thing i can sugest is check you hardware actualy works becaus my old laptop i fried the networking card in it and it said it was working perfectly but it wouldnt conect so i went to a PC repair place gave it to the guy behind the counter, looked him straight in the eyes and said (this is the important part
) "MEND THIS!!!" and pointed to my laptop then after a day he said the network card was f**ked.
but then again it could be your ethernet cable either its not pluged in (somthing might be stuck in the socket blocking the conections) or its broken maybe you shut it in a door or somthing.
but if none of all that ^ works then i dont know
